We want to flag a recent update from NIH regarding the Biographical Sketch Common Form instructions, and an associated discrepancy in SciENcv.
NIH has updated their FAQs to clarify that investigators may reference any of the 10 products listed in the Biographical Sketch Common Form within the Personal Statement and/or in the 5 the Contributions to Science sections.
However, SciENcv has not yet updated its on-screen instructions to reflect this change. Per confirmation from NIH (OPERA), the current SciENcv interface contains a typo, and a correction is pending. Importantly, the generated PDFs are correct and align with the updated NIH guidance.
- Senior Key Personnnel should follow the updated NIH FAQ guidance, not the current SciENcv on-screen instructions.
- SciENcv-generated PDFs are accurate, despite the interface discrepancy.
- No manual workaround is needed at this time.

NIH is actively working on adjusting the instructions with MyNCBI to fix the error.
