The NIH Loan Repayment Programs (LRPs) may repay a portion of eligible educational debt for qualified researchers conducting NIH mission-relevant research.
LRP applications are prepared and submitted by the applicant through NIH ASSIST. Applicants need an eRA Commons account, and UCSF is already registered in eRA Commons. As part of the application process, an Institutional Business Official (IBO), such as the Department Chair or their delegate, is responsible for certifying the applicant’s salary and eligibility.
Please note that LRP payments are made directly to the researcher’s lending institution(s), not to UCSF. LRSP roles will need to be added to verify information after award.
