The Arthritis National Research Foundation (ANRF) has multiple opportunities open now:

Arthritis and Related Autoimmune Disease Research Grant

  • Purpose: To support early-career researchers studying psoriatic arthritis and/or related mechanisms, who are within a few years of their transition to independence. ANRF will consider applications researching basic or clinical studies. Clinical studies should have a translational component that helps reveal the underlying mechanisms or response to therapy.
  • Eligibility: Promising investigators with a clear upward trajectory, ideally just before or within a few years after transition to independence to their own research groups. Applicants may not have, or ever have had, an NIH R01 grant or equivalent.
  • Budget and Project Period: Up to $250,000, direct costs only, over 2 years. 
  • Purpose: To support early-career researchers studying arthritis and/or related autoimmune disease, who are within a few years of their transition to independence. ANRF will consider applications researching basic or clinical studies. Clinical studies should have a translational component that helps reveal the underlying mechanisms or response to therapy.

Psoriatic Arthritis Research Grant

Postdoctoral Physician-Scientist Fellowship

  • Purpose: To support postdoctoral clinical researchers interested in pursuing a career studying arthritis and/or related autoimmune disease. ANRF will give preference to clinical studies or applications exploring basic research.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must hold an MD or MD/PhD degree and be enrolled in or have completed a clinical rheumatology fellowship program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Preference will be given to postdoctoral investigators with no more than five (5) years of research training or experience since obtaining a post-baccalaureate doctoral-level degree (excluding clinical training).
  • Budget and Project Period: Up to $50,000, direct costs only, for 1 year.

 

Rheum for Kids: Pediatric Skin and Joint Disease Research Grant

  • Purpose: To support early career researchers studying diseases affecting pediatric joints and skin, who are within seven years of obtaining a doctoral degree. Preference will be given to clinical studies or applications exploring basic research. Priority consideration will be given to applications that focus on a project that impacts both the skin and joints from an investigator team with expertise in both pediatric rheumatology and pediatric dermatology.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be within seven years of obtaining a post-baccalaureate doctoral-level degree (excluding clinical training). Applicants may not have, or ever have had, an NIH R01 grant or equivalent.  
  • Budget and Project Period: Up to $50,000, direct costs only, for 1 year.
