For a study supported by NIH that will generate large-scale genomic data or use large-scale genomic data from a NIH-designated data repository (dbGaP), the application should include a data sharing plan or plans for requesting data (see NOT-OD-15-083). If the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) requires UCSF IRB review and approval of the proposed Consent form to the proposed human subjects protocol contact the PIs assigned RSC as soon as possible. In the April 2016 Sponsored Research Newsletter, we provided guidance on the new instructions, including the four key areas of focus and links to NIH resources.
The NIH Public Access Policy has been in effect since April 7, 2008, but in 2013 the NIH implemented new rules around the policy. Renewal awards will be delayed if there are any publications listed on the progress report with a “non-compliant” status, and Principal Investigators must also use My Bibliography (via My NCBI) to enter papers onto progress reports.
NIH has published updated information regarding the Fiscal Year 2016 salary limitation under NIH Notice NOT-OD-16-045. The Executive Level II salary level will increase to $185,100 effective January 10, 2016.
