The NIH’s commitment to promoting rigorous and transparent research led to recent updates to research grant and career development award applications and progress reports guidelines. In the April 2016 Sponsored Research Newsletter, we provided guidance on the new instructions, including the four key areas of focus and links to NIH resources.
The Office of Sponsored Research is hosting two international NCURA Fellows from July 25 – August 5. The international NCURA Fellows Programs exist in order to aid in the training of research administrators, and to enhance global research collaborations.
Beginning in September, a new financial entry will be recorded monthly to estimate biweekly payroll expenses that have not yet posted to the General Ledger. As a result, financial reports will display a more accurate estimate of financial position or remaining balance. This financial entry will be automatically reversed the following month once actual payroll expenses are recorded.
Proposal and Award Metrics Dashboard (PAMDash) is live and designed to provide on-demand access to proposal and award data metrics.
The NIH Public Access Policy has been in effect since April 7, 2008, but in 2013 the NIH implemented new rules around the policy. Renewal awards will be delayed if there are any publications listed on the progress report with a “non-compliant” status, and Principal Investigators must also use My Bibliography (via My NCBI) to enter papers onto progress reports.
